That is Savir Foods - Callao roots, Los Angeles heart, Austin heat, made with love in every drop. If you haven’t yet, I hope you taste the story.

- Chef Josue Rivas

  • Peruvian Roots

I’m Chef Josue Rivas, founder of Savir Foods. I was born on the Pacific coast in the port of Callao, Peru. My culinary heritage comes from Northern Peru were my Mom, Aunts and Abuelita were kitchen legends — they were renowned for their warm hospitality, frequently gathering people in their kitchen for a meal. These meals weren't just food; they were hugs on a plate. While Peru has llamas, potatoes, Machu Picchu, many aren’t aware of the diverse culinary scene which is a legendary powerhouse of flavor and innovation. Peru’s restaurants today are consistently rated the best in the world.

  • L.A. Heart

At a young age I moved to Los Angeles, where the streets hit me with explosions of Latin American, Mexican, Asian flavors — steaming bowls of pozole rojo, mouthwatering street tacos from the corner lonchera, dim sum carts, korean bbq indian food and fresh pupusas. I ended up attending Culinary School in Pasadena, where I was privileged to learn from great mentors, like Mrs Julia Child, Morimoto, Wolfgang Puck and Jacques Torres, and in the next 15 years I would spend years owning Peruvian restaurants, turning childhood memories into plates that made strangers feel like family.

  • Austin Heat

In 2018, I landed in Texas and in later in 2020 I created the first hot sauce for a family member. This first sauce sparked an idea of sharing my memories, recipes and flavors right from a bottle. Every Savir product is proudly made in small batches and bottled right here with only clean, natural ingredients — nothing artificial, ever. The result? Craveable, unique flavors that taste like real food, and arguably addictive.

  • HOT ONES: The world’s spiciest interview show.

Jala Pepa Featured on Season 15: This is creamy green sauce created for my niece— I wanted mellow heat with loud flavors and Peruvian soul (cilantro, garlic, jalapeno). Celebrities like Matt Damon call it “delicious” and would have it in his kitchen. This mild sauce has been a top seller!

Elotes Loco Fire Edition Featured on Season 26: Our vegan street-corn-meets-ghost-pepper beast had guests like Kevin Hart and Lady Gaga sweating, smiling, and begging for more.

Crema Macha Featured on Season 28: We have toasted sesame seeds married to a spicy smoky chili oil. This creamy sauce gives a nutty layered heat that even Matthew Mcconaughey likes. Alright, alright, alright, we like it too Matt!
