Silken tofu provides the base of this creamy sauce. Tofu is a great source of plant-based protein as it contains all 9 essential amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and are necessary for physiological functions. Our body can only produce 11 of the 20 amino acids, so the other 9 must be obtained through diet. Tofu is also high in calcium, iron, and magnesium. There are a lot of good reasons to avoid genetically modified foods, and soy is one of the most common crops to be genetically modified and sprayed with toxic chemicals. So, when purchasing tofu opt for a non-GMO, organic product.
This high protein sauce pairs perfectly on top of our @zuchinni enchiladas or mixed into our @cole slaw, but can also be drizzled on anything your heart desires.
